walkie-talkie invites people to come together for a one-day mobile symposium, using Chelsea Theatre as ‘base camp’. A day of scratch walks and peripatetic perambulations, walkie-talkie is the first walking event of the Walking Artists Network, established in order to aid/enable/force artists who use walking in their practice to come together and think and talk and walk.
The day looks something like this:
10am – coffee and registration
10.15 – 11am introduction and open forum discussion – defining themes to take for a walk
11am – 12.30 walk and talk
12.30 – 1pm regroup/report/discuss/document
1pm – 1.30pm lunch
1.30pm – 2pm open forum discussion – defining themes to take for a walk
2pm – 3.30pm walk and talk
3.30pm – 4pm regroup/report/discuss/document
4.30pm close/drinks
It’s free, but booking is required via the Chelsea Theatre website: https://kiosk.iristickets.co.uk/k?prchelsea
All are welcome, whatever your interest in walking and/or art, the only pre-defined aspect of the day is the schedule above – we need you to bring the content.
Participants are welcome to drop in and out throughout the day, though we do suggest taking part in one of the open forum discussions (either at 10.15am or at 1.30pm).
Also going on in/around/from the theatre:
Gustavo Ciriaco & Andrea Sonnberger : Here Whilst We Walk
Amy Sharrocks : Lost and Found
Manuel Vason : Workshop
Ragroof Theatre : Tea Dance
