From 2009-2013 I have been living and working in Jaffa Israel, and recently moved back to London. I have recently ended two years residency as an "artist-teacher" and "artist in the community" at the Arab Democratic School & Yaffa and in the Arab Jewish Community Centre. A retrospective of my work, curetted by Ami Steinitz, has been exhibited at autumn 2012 at the Architects' House Gallery in Jaffa. Currently I am completing a book about my work which will be published in English and Hebrew in summer 2014.
Art media and themes: Most of my work can be classified as participatory / pedagogical art and was created collaboratively with other artists or various communities. I have been working in various artistic media such as photography, street installations, urban interventions and sculpture. The main themes of my work have been marginalized urban spaces and communities (including artists’s communities and initiatives), local and hidden histories, body & identity, walking practices, the perception of time and place, and human rights. This is pretty much also the theme of my PhD research “The Dead Zone & The Architecture of Transgression” which I due to submit in Summer 2014
