I am an independent artist/designer who is interested in perception and the ways we experience identity and particularly the role that everyday clothing plays in this. A core theme relates to clothing in action - as it is being worn - and its relationship to the human body moving in space, through time and place. Recently I have been looking at feet, shoes and walking, and the downward viewpoint has encouraged me to pay more attention to the signs and messages on the surface of the ground. I use video and also motion capture to record the rhythms of walking. I am currently leading a collaborative project for Northampton Museum and Art Gallery in 2015, that will create a focus on feet and walking, alongside their footwear collection.
