- The relationship of walking and drawing is important to me and over the past few years I have sought out residencies and made study visits abroad where I could combine these two interlinked activities. I have chosen unusual places to visit such as Finland, Japan, Slovenia and Peru and the landscapes have each evoked a strong feeling for me. I record in a sketchbook and develop ideas into prints, sewings, mixed- media pieces and handmade books.
From walking the Camino de Compostela in Spain, I made a small fold-out booklet of linoprints, reminiscent of the stamps you receive enroute in your ‘pilgrim’s passport.’
