Statement

I am 3rd year BA student at Central St. Martins studying Criticism, Communication and Curation with interests in walking as a cultural/artistic practice, urbanism, and spatial theory and interventions. I am currently developing my final major project which is using walking as its predominant medium and have recently completed my dissertation in which I explored the use of walking by women artists to subvert patriarchal spatial ideologies. I am interested in how walking can be used to open up liminal ‘thought’ spaces between lived, ‘real’ experience in present time, and ‘imagined’ experiences created by, for example, day-dreaming and nostalgic thoughts.
