Statement

Merched Chwarel is a group of four artists, Marged Pendrell, Lindsey Colbourne, Lisa Hudson and Julie Williams, walking and working together in the quarries of North Wales. Beginning with walking and collaborating in the quarries of Bethesda, Dinorwig, Nantperis, Llanberis, Penmaenmawr and BlaenauFfestiniog, we aim to search for traces of women’s footsteps and physical presence in a previously male‐dominated environment.
