I am interested in how we access those stories; through walking footpaths through them; through watching soap operas that are watched in every living room across the land; through being in the crowd at everyone's favourite punk rock band's gig.

I consider these modes of exploration and expression to be places of retreat found in those tiny corners of our imaginations, that help to balm our minds in the exact way that we need them to. They are visions, and sometimes performances. A cultural spectacle. A reconfiguration for personal order. A fabrication, even.
Some people go there voluntarily. Some people are sent there in exile. Some don’t know any different.
The act of walking is the most democratic of this all; it's non-linguistic communication that teaches us things we can't articulate about ourselves and the planet.
