Statement

I am Dr Angela Summerfield, a British artist, writer and independent curator. My formative years were spent in North Yorkshire and London, and I now live in rural North Gloucestershire. Walking is central to my art practice as a painter. My research interests include Empathy Aesthetics and associated colour, light and geometry theories; the Noetic and Numinism; and Green Truth (Viriditas) in relation to the Visual Arts. Other interests are contemporary and historical Nature Writing; Poetry; and Folk to Modern Classical Music. I am a member of the Tate British Art Network Landscape Group; The Arborealists; and AICA.
