Finders Keepers sheds light on the threat of bridleways becoming extinguished in the UK.
Through a series of performative acts, Sarah Le Quang Sang mindfully rides, walks and maps these ancient lanes with her equine and creative partner Spirit of Saigon. This work questions ideas around rights to roam, land rights and diversity in the equestrian world. As a Franco-Vietnamese artist and rider living in East London, she immerses herself in the British countryside, changing the colour of its landscape and challenging the representation of horse riders in Britain.
Whilst her feet and her horse’s hoofs print the landscapes, an online trail is also created.
Audiences can engage online with an archive of documentation of the project: photos, videos, historical research, maps, audio recordings, memories, thoughts and personal reflections.
Sarah Le Quang Sang is working with the support of Art Territory Exchange on the creation of Finders Keepers.
