Thomas Schütt is a freelance performer, dramaturge and philosopher in contemporary performing arts. Studied philosophy and German language and literature in Heidelberg (Magister Artium). Private acting and speech classes as well as trainings in the art of walking (Elke Schmid, Mannheim/Berlin). Numerous international collaborations in performance, directing, dramaturgy and research/conception with artists such as Michael Laub/Remote Control Productions, Gob Squad, EX!T Ausgangspunkt Theater, TWO FISH, Hyoung-Min Kim, Jee-Ae Lim, Martin Clausen, Angela Schubot/Jared Gradinger, Andreas A. Müller and Wiebke Hensle, Hamish Fulton, Ivan Bazak and Wagner Moreira, among others. Together with Elke Schmid he is founder and performer of ÉCOLEFLÂNEURS, the Berlin school of strolling, since 2015. Since 2017 member of the artist group Karpatentheater. The solo "I PLAY D(E)AD", developed for dancer-choreographer Wagner Moreira, was awarded the Ursula Cain Förderpreis of the Saxon Dance Prize in 2019.
