My research and teaching involves a long history of working with artists in collaborative/participatory ways, through what I called ethno-mimesis. Since 2008 my research and practice is inspired by walking artists [especially Misha Myers] and I have developed arts based walking methods, biographical and life history methods, with artists and communities in the UK, Canada and Ireland. A degree in education and creative arts in 1978-82 was foundational for all subsequent collaborative and convivial research/teaching/practice. Social Justice, feminisms and community based participatory arts are central to my practice.
