I began adopting walking as a vehicle for art making in 1994. I was the first artist to consistently develop walking as a mode of practice into urban context by adopting the guided walk form. This use of walking as a discursive practice has been supplemented with other walking modes. I founded WALK at University of Sunderland and lead the Mobilities in Art & Performance research group at MMU
