Why do we walk? What makes us walk? Why do we not walk (anymore)? People walk in the city. They appropriate the built form, creating social spaces in the civic environment. While research tends to 'flatten' the notion of walk(ability) to the numerical data - with writers suggesting aspect(s) of what makes a 'good' walk, questions remain on what defines the walk itself.
